🎙️ In the Swing of Things. The softball season has officially begun in Arkansas, and Kyle Sutherland has covering the sport for over 10 years. He joins Alyssa Orange to break down each classification, what players to watch, and who could be competing for a state title in May.

👀 Familiar Faces. Can we officially call Farmington a dynasty? The Lady Cardinals picked up their fourth-straight state title with a 74-39 win over Mountain Home. Sophomore Easton McCollough, who has been an elite player all season, put up a staggering 32 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals. McCollough was responsible for 12 of Farmington’s 14 points in the third quarter, helping her earn MVP honors.
🏀 Two-Peat. Bryant earned their second-straight state title with a 58-50 win over Central Arkansas foe Little Rock Central. Sophomore Mason Abrahamson scored 20 points for the Hornets, including six 3-pointers. Senior RJ Young added 18 points and nine rebounds for the champs.
👑 Crowned Again. North Little Rock girls returned to the top of the 6A conference, taking down Har-Ber with a 46-40 win. The victory marks the sixth state title for the Lady Charging Wildcats, and the first since 2022. NLR’s defense came out strong, holding Har-Ber to just four points in the first quarter. Junior Lauren Brewster led the offense with 14 points, followed by senior Elicia Shepherd with nine.
🏆 New to Top. Pulaski Academy has some new hardware to bring home: their first state championship title! The Lady Bruins defeated Pea Ridge, 56-43, using a strong first half, including an 11-0 run. Tournament MVP and junior Greenlee Elmore recorded 18 points, five rebounds, and four steals.
🏀 Despite facing adversity, Barton basketball was able to deliver in the state finals, defeating Mount Vernon-Enola, 89-44. The win secured the program’s first state title in school history. The Bears’ offense looked electric, shooting 68% from the field with four starters finishing with double figures. Sophomore Quinteryon Wilson was responsible for 25 points and tournament MVP Christian Williams recorded 22.

🏀 Senior Michael Moore finished with 10 points in Little Rock Hall’s 59-54 victory over Mills, playing an important role in keeping the Warriors in control during key stretches of the game. Just before halftime, he knocked down a deep shot to extend Hall’s lead to 14 points. Despite multiple Mills’ comeback rallies, Moore kept his composure, leading the Warriors to their first state title since 2013.
⛹️♀️ Junior Greenlee Elmore delivered a standout performance for the Lady Bruins, helping Pulaski Academy take down Pea Ridge for their first state title. In the 56-43 win, Elmore was electric on both sides of the court, scoring a team-high 18 points while racking up five rebounds and four steals. Her work was recognized, earning her the Most Valuable Player honor.
