Let’s get right to it!

🎙️ Varsity Vibe Today. In our final Player to Watch in 2025 series, we’re catching up with Fayetteville defensive back Kyndrick Williams. Throughout his high school career, Williams has changed schools and switched from offense to defense. Now he's ready to leave it all out on the field his season year. Plus, former Arkansas offensive lineman and former Pea Ridge coach Brey Cook will join us every Friday to look ahead to the action. What can we expect from teams in our area in 2025?
🎙️Varsity Vibe Stories. Tommy Tice ranks third among all-time winningest coaches in Arkansas high school football history. The once head coach at Harrison and Huntsville came out of retirement in 2024 to take over the Farmington Cardinals program and led them to their first state title game appearance since 1973. From his early days of coaching to Crooked Creek Magic at Harrison, Tice is full of stories, advice, and love for the game. Join host Alyssa Orange as she sits down with the coaching legend ahead of his second season with Farmington.

🏈 In Case You Missed It. High school football is officially underway with benefit games and scrimmages this week. Fayetteville and Greenwood managed to get in just one half before being rained out, with Greenwood coming out on top, 21-19. The Rogers Mounties took down both Russellville and Cabot by a score of 7-0 in their shortened halves.
🐗 Familiar Face. Joe Adams is back on the field, this time as a coach. The former Arkansas great was a standout wide receiver for the Razorbacks from 2008-11 before being drafted by the Carolina Panthers. Adams will now work with Har-ber as the wide receivers coach for the football program.
🏐 NWA→Tiger Town. Fayetteville volleyball player Piper Batie has committed to the University of Missouri. Batie made the move from Gravette last season, where she racked up 482 assists, 270 digs, and 113 aces. She’ll be a key piece for the Bulldogs this fall as they kick off their season on the road at Greenwood on August 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Kane Archer, who has committed to the University of Central Florida, is entering his senior season as Greenwood’s QB1. Archer completed 82% of his passes for 3,880 yards last season, which set a national high school single-season record. On top of his accurate arm, the QB also has an impressive rushing ability, leading the Bulldogs last season with 795 yards on 81 carries and 10 touchdowns.
“His mechanics help him remain accurate whether he’s sitting still in the pocket, or on the move, or avoiding a defender,” Greenwood head coach Chris Young told Hooten’s. “He’s just an incredibly special football player.”
