🎙️ Varsity Vibe Today. It’s the final week of the regular season for high school football in Arkansas. There are big games all over the state as teams try and get in the best position possible for a playoff run. Alyssa Orange and Brey Cook break down the 7A matchups and how Friday night factors into playoff seeding. Plus, we introduce you to this week’s SRD Performance Athlete of the Week.

🏈 Conference Clash. The Greenwood Bulldogs are looking to close out the regular season unbeaten as they travel to Mountain Home to face the 8-1 Bombers. Greenwood has been dominant all year, averaging nearly 47 points per game. Mountain Home has been impressive as well, with a dangerous offense that average almost 40 points per game. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm and can be watched here.

🦌 Elks Stay Hot. Elkins pushed their win streak up to seven on Friday, holding off Gravette in a tight 21-16 victory. The Elks were able to come through late, taking down the Lions for the second year in a row. With the win, Elkins improved to 8-1 this season, while handing Gravette their first conference loss of the season. Elkins hosts Huntsville tonight at 7:00 pm. The game can be watched here. 

🏀 Wolverine Hoops. Bentonville West gave basketball fans an early glimpse of the future this week at their Navy and Gold games. These preseason scrimmages featured players at every level of the program, including both the boys and girls athletes. The night offered a look at what’s to come for the Wolverine basketball as they geared up for the season ahead.

🏈 Mountain Home senior quarterback Brantlee Phillips looked electric in the Bombers’ 44-20 win over Van Buren, completing 7-of-8 passes for 142 yards. Four first-half touchdowns helped the Bombers build a comfortable 35-0 lead going into halftime, with Mountain Home holding all of the momentum. His efficiency was all Mountain Home needed to secure their eighth victory of the season, setting them up for their matchup with unbeaten Greenwood tonight.

🏈 Bryant hits the road tonight to face Conway at 7:00 pm. The Hornets have won 10 straight against Conway, and enters the matchup off of a 38-7 win over North Little Rock — their eighth victory of the season by 28 points or more. Conway is coming off of a big win of their own after taking down Little Rock Christian Academy, 55-17, to improve to 8-1 on the season. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm and can be watched here.

⛹️‍♀️ Performance Athlete of the Week. Farmington volleyball’s Laney Brisiel has been making major strides this off season due to her strong work ethic and attitude. She’s 0.36 seconds faster in her 20-yard sprint and 0.49 seconds quicker in her Pro-Agility. Brisiel also added 8.38 inches to her broad jump, 4.9 inches to her standing vertical, and 2.2 inches to her approach vertical. To learn more about the program, visit srdathlete.com.

🏈 Pulaski Academy is set to face off against Little Rock Christian tonight. Pulaski Academy enters off of a 49-22 win over Little Rock Southwest. Sophomore quarterback Aron Orgil led the offense, throwing for 331 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, junior running back Javion Walker ran for 134 yards on 16 carries. Little Rock Christian is looking to bounce back after a 55-17 loss to Conway, sophomore quarterback Elijah Robertson threw for 120 yards with one touchdown.
