๐๏ธ Varsity Vibe Today. High School basketball season kicks off around Arkansas. We catch up with Pea Ridge girl's basketball coach Heath Neal and senior Makenzie Stites as they get ready for the season. Plus Kane Archer is this week's Lindsey Boy's Athlete of the Week.

๐ Seven in a Row. The Bryant Hornets extended their winning streak against the Conway Wampus Cats with a 28-21 victory. The two teams fought a tight battle until a 1-yard touchdown courtesy of senior quarterback Jeremiah Mote sealed the win for Bryant. Mote was electric all night, completing 11-of-15 passes for 161 yards. Senior running back Kollin Robinson led the ground attack with 100 yards and three touchdowns. With the win, the Hornets collected their seventh-straight 7A Central title.
๐ช Bulldogs Finish Strong. Fayetteville ended their regular season on a winning note, taking down Har-Ber, 48-27. The Bulldogs wasted no time offensively, putting up 42 first-half points behind junior quarterback Hank Hendrixโs 406 passing yards and three touchdowns. Senior running back Kaleb Johnson hit a career-high with four rushing touchdowns as well. Fayettevilleโs defense remained clutch with a fumble recovery and forced turnovers, helping to clinch a home playoff game this week.
๐ฅ Mounties Ride. Despite a slow start, Rogers was able to cruise past Rogers Heritage with a 49-14 win. Five second-quarter touchdowns helped fuel the Mountiesโ offense, and senior quarterback Jeff Regan threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns โ two to senior receiver Braxton Lindsey and one to senior receiver Parker Nix. Special teams also performed well, with junior kicker Juan Chaparro going perfect with 7 PATs and recovering two of his own onside kicks.

๐โโ๏ธ Bentonville cross country remained dominant, taking both the boysโ and girlsโ 6A state titles. The Tigers boys earned their ninth consecutive state title, marking the longest active streak in Arkansas. Brothers Brian and Sean Burns led Bentonville, finishing first and second respectively. The Lady Tigers were able to take down defending champ Rogers to reclaim their spot at the top of the 6A conference, marked by impressive performances from Claire Lorimer and Charlotte Miller.

๐ Senior quarterback Kane Archer led Greenwood to another undefeated regular season following a 42-10 win over Mountain Home. Archer got started early in the game, throwing a 14-yard touchdown pass to senior receiver Cooper Bland to end the first drive of the game. Greenwood remained steady offensively, putting up a 21-0 lead to end the first half before cruising to a 36th consecutive win.
๐โโ๏ธ Rogers senior Lilly Beshear picked up her second-straight 6A state cross country title following an dominant performance. Beshear finished with a time of 17:29.45, almost 22 seconds ahead of the runner-up. She was able to take an early lead on the course and used that momentum to put away the field.

๐ The playoffs are finally here, and things are heating up in central Arkansas! While Bryant and Conway enjoy first-round byes, Pulaski Academy will travel to the hill to face off with Fayetteville. North Little Rock also hits the road to take on Bentonville West, and Cabot stays home to host Springdale. Little Rock Christian also stays home with hopes of taking down Har-Ber. In the 6A bracket, Little Rock Southwest travels to Rogers Heritage. Benton has a first-round bye, but will face the winner of Mountain Home and Sheridan next week.
