🏆 Team & Athletes of the Week

Let’s get to it!

🎙️ Varsity Vibe Today. After putting up 84 points in a win against Sheridan, the Rogers Mounties continue to make a statement three weeks into the 2025 season. Plus, Greenwood's Kane Archer is our Lindsey Boys Athlete of the Week after leading the Bulldogs to a 43-42 win over Har-Ber.

🏐 Then, in today’s episode of Varsity Vibe Stories, Noelle and Claire Hammond have played volleyball for as long as they can remember. As their story unfolds, the Hammond sisters talk about their lifelong connection and what the sport means to them. Their service goes beyond the court, into the community and spreading the word — and the game — through mission trips.

🐝 Revenge Stings. The Bryant Hornets put on an offensive show and beat the Parkview Patriots 49-6. This one must’ve been especially sweet, as the Patriots snapped Bryant’s historic winning streak last season. Senior running backs Kollin Robinson and Terry Hodges each scored twice, while quarterbacks Kyler Shelby and Jeremiah Motes combined for three touchdown passes.

🏃‍♂️ Fast & Free. Mountain Home's Jackson Free showed out at the Sugar Creek Showdown in Bentonville, clinching first place with a time of 14:46.39, marking Free's first sub-15 minute 5K. Free now holds the Arkansas high school record, ranking him 24th nationally according to MileSplit.

🏈 The Farmington Cardinals took a narrow 28-27 win over Prairie Grove. Junior quarterback Slade Norwood, who filled in for injured starter Ayden Lester, led a late drive that ended with his own 6-yard touchdown run with just over a minute left. Despite 224 rushing yards and three touchdowns from Prairie Grove’s Elijah Sugg, the Tigers fell just short.

The Rogers Mounties extended their winning streak to three games following a dominant 84-40 victory over Sheridan. Senior quarterback Jeff Regan remained reliable, with three rushing touchdowns and three more through the air in the first half alone. Regan added 111 rushing yards and threw for 252 yards. Senior Braxton Lindsey had a game of his own with three touchdowns and a 40-yard interception.

“I think they might be the best team — overall — in the state,” Sheridan head coach Kevin Kelley told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “They finished in the final four last year and got everybody back.”

🏈 Greenwood’s senior quarterback Kane Archer has once again proven to be a key player in the Natural State. In the Bulldogs’ tight 43-42 win against Har-Ber, Archer accounted for 437 total yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winning, five-yard run and two-point conversion with just 15 seconds left in the game.

⛳️ Bentonville freshman Ella Abbruzzese performed impressively at the Mountie/War Eagle Classic, shooting an even-par 72, which earned her medalist honors. Abbruzzese’s efforts and performance helped secure a second-place finish for the Tigers. Bentonville ended with a team score 234.
