🎙️ Vision Developed. After playing high school basketball at Springdale and coaching at AAO, DaShaun Stark was hired as an assistant coach and then promoted to athletics director and head coach of the Cougars at The New School. His vision is to make it the first prep school opportunity in Arkansas, helping continue to develop and grow the basketball talent in the state. He sat down with Alyssa Orange to share that vision and his love for the game in this episode of Varsity Vibe Today.

👀 Stepping Up. Northside girls basketball took down Bentonville last week, finding new ways to score without standout senior Camryn Schmidt. The Lady Bears utilized a 17-0 run in the first half to solidify the 61-51 win, with freshman Paisley Hogan scoring 22 points and sophomore RaShiya Hall adding 12.

💪 Third Quarter Push. Thanks to a dominant third quarter performance, Springdale was able to put Bentonville West away with a 56-38 win. Despite being tied at 20 going into halftime, the Bulldogs went on a 12-0 run to build a lead that the Wolverines couldn’t come back from. Senior Tavyn Bledsaw led the Bulldogs’ scoring effort with 20 points.

✈️ Take Flight. Mountain Home delivered a strong performance at home, taking down Van Buren with a 67-48 victory. Junior Bailor Tate led the Bombers with 21 points, while senior Jackson Corp had 14 and senior Rhett Gilbert was responsible for 12.

⛹️‍♀️ Vilonia girls basketball is getting hot! The Lady Eagles had a huge win last week, taking down Little Rock Christian, 74-54. They continued their tear with a 54-39 win the next day against Greenbrier. They hold an impressive 23-2 record this season with 11 wins in conference play.

🏀 In Farmington’s big 93-58 win over Greenwood, senior Eli Schwartzman was scary offensively, with 29 points and 10 assists in the first half alone. The Barry University commit showcased his range, hitting eight 3-pointers in the first half.

🤼‍♀️ We have a new wrestling state champ to crown! In the 5A 190-pound division, senior Addison Girley took the top spot, clinching an individual state title for Arkansas High School.

🏀 Little Rock Christian knocked down nine 3-pointers to rally past Parkview with a 62-53 victory. Senior Easton Boggs knocked down five threes and was responsible for 15 of the Warriors’ points. Senior JJ Andrews added an impressive 20 to the board as well.
