Let’s dive right in!

🐯 Talkin’ Tigers. Bentonville Tigers head baseball coach Will McGinnis is building his own groundwork for success in his first season leading the program. This might be his debut year at Bentonville, but he is no stranger to the 6A-West. He played in it as a high schooler at Springdale, and coached as an assistant at Har-Ber. McGinnis joins Alyssa Orange to discuss the 2026 season so far, growing up playing baseball in Northwest Arkansas for his dad, and what this senior class has meant to him in just a short amount of time.

👌 Perfection. Bentonville earned another run-rule win, taking down Greenwood 11-0. But the story of the day was senior pitcher Darby Osborne, who threw a perfect game with 12 strikeouts. Meanwhile, senior Violet Nguyen led the offensive charge with two home runs, and junior Kylee Wyman and senior Taylor Chrisp each added home runs of their own.

💪 All-Around Effort. Bryant softball played with grit, using small ball to secure a 9-1 win over Harmony Grove. Junior Kestyn Cimino and senior Makaila Easterwood set the tone early with hits, while junior Kaily Threet’s three-RBI double broke things open in the third inning. In the circle, junior Madeline Baldwin kept Harmony Grove’s offense quiet, striking out eight.

⚾️ Comeback Secured. Despite trailing early, Fort Smith Southside used a big fourth inning to secure a 4-2 dub over Greenwood. Senior Josh Wright, who finished with three hits and an RBI, got the Mavericks started with timely hitting that sparked a four-run inning. Senior Walker Allen threw five strong innings, followed by senior Peyton Zimmerman to close it out.

🥎 Bentonville West softball has won their sixth-straight conference game with a gritty 5-3 win over Har-Ber. Freshman Sloane Shelnutt and sophomore Bella McVey each delivered key hits, including McVey’s two-run double in the fifth. Freshman Kiryn Lunsford led the offensive effort with three hits. Although the Lady Wolverines started this season with just two wins in five conference games, they’ve caught fire and are now 8-3 in the 6A-West.

⚽️ Even in a 2-1 loss, Bentonville’s Wyatt Marksberry made his presence felt in a big way. The senior was an offensive threat early, scoring to give the Tigers a first-half lead. Throughout the entirety of the game, Marksberry was a problem for Springdale, creating scoring chances when it mattered most.

⚽️ Har-Ber’s sophomore Addi Crowell has played a key role in the Lady Wildcats’ success this season, recording two goals and four assists. In their game against Springdale, she was responsible for one goal and two assists. On top of her offensive game, she made several defensive stops.
