Let’s get started!
👀 Inside the GAC. The Great American Conference was started in 2010, and now has 12 universities across Arkansas and Oklahoma. Commissioner Will Prewitt took the time to talk with Alyssa Orange on the growth of the conference over the years, how the transfer portal and NIL has affected them at the DII level, and his advice to high school athletes who want to play collegiate sports.
🏆 On Top. Greenwood battled back, using a five-run fifth inning to erase a deficit and defeat Bentonville, 9-7. The Tigers held a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth, but sophomore Jayden Campbell’s bases-loaded single tied the game before Greenwood took the lead for good on a fielder’s choice by junior Brayden Renick. Campbell finished with three hits and two RBI to lead Greenwood’s offensive attack.
💪 Battling Back. Shiloh Christian clinched the 4A-1 conference baseball title, rallying from an early 3-0 deficit to earn a 5-4 win over Pea Ridge, extending their winning streak to 17 games. The Saints broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning when sophomore Oakley Thompson delivered a sacrifice fly, and the defense turned a key double play in the bottom half of the inning.
⚾️ Locked In. Bentonville West baseball defeated Fayetteville, 6-3, picking up another win in conference play. Despite being outhit 11-5, the Wolverines built an early lead, highlighted by offensive performances from senior Will Geiger, junior Jayden Wilson and sophomore Baron Witcher. Geiger also delivered on the mound, tossing a complete game with five strikeouts in a 109-pitch performance.

🥎 Bentonville softball secured the outright conference title with a dominant 6-0 win over Fayetteville. Senior Violet Nguyen had a big night, hitting a two-run home run to help power the offense to the victory. Junior Bella Mears and Senior Marissa Gianneschi added two hits each, while junior Daylyn Osborne was electric in the circle, allowing just three hits and striking out nine across seven shutout innings as the Lady Tigers improved to 24-3 overall and 15-1 in conference play. On top of their impressive record this season, Bentonville has set the Arkansas high school state record for HR in a single season.

⚾️ Senior Cooper Mann has played a huge role in Rogers’ success this season, helping the Mounties to a 24-2 record, which has them on top of the 6A-West. The McLennan baseball commit has been consistent at the plate, showing up in key moments when it matters most for Rogers.
⚽️ Senior Janie Kramer was clutch Friday night, scoring the game-tying goal with just 30 seconds remaining to help Fayetteville secure a 2-2 draw against defending state champion Bentonville. After the Tigers built a 2-0 lead, Kramer sparked the comeback with a corner kick assist to junior Sarah Rainer before finding the tying-shot late.
