🎙️ Making Moves. After six seasons as the head coach of the Greenwood Bulldogs, and serving as the offensive coordinator for 11 years prior, Chris Young is stepping down and moving to the role of Director of Student Activities and Operations. What does this mean for Greenwood football? A new era. Young visits with Jeff Williams about why he decided to make the move and how Jason Gill is a great fit to take over the program.

🐾 Wildcat Win. Har-Ber softball’s Kennedy Smith came in clutch, hitting a grand slam in the fifth inning to seal an 8-3 win over Fayetteville. The Lady Wildcats’ offense was consistent throughout the game, tallying 12 hits and zero strikeouts. Junior Cyarah Dotts pitched the entire game, while also recording three hits at the plate.
🏈 Familiar Faces. A new era is coming to Greenwood, with Jason Gill at the helm. The Bulldogs’ longtime defensive coordinator will move into the role of head coach after 13 years as an assistant. After six seasons as head coach and three state championships, Chris Young is stepping away from the program and moving full time into his athletic director position. Prior to his tenure as the head coach at Greenwood, Young served as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator for 11 years.
🔒 Locked In. Rogers and Bentonville soccer met this week for yet another high-stakes 6A matchup, with the teams ending in a 0-0 draw. Each goalkeeper held strong through the game, with Rogers’ Skylar Eggers and Bentonville’s Mackenzie Forsyth combining for eight saves. The Lady Tigers’ offense threatened late, but the Mounties’ defense held strong to prevent any goals.

⚾️ Noah Bolinger delivered a standout performance on the mound, leading Bentonville to a 14-1 win over Fort Smith Northside. The senior threw five innings, allowing no hits and racking up nine strikeouts in 98 pitches. His command on the mound set the tone, allowing Bentonville to build offensive momentum behind him to secure another win in 6A-West play.

⚾️ Greenwood’s baseball team put up a dominant showing this week, rolling to a 14-0 run-rule victory over 5A rival Alma. The Bulldogs’ offense was productive from top to bottom, with pinch-hitters putting up four key hits in the 16-hit game. Greenwood had a huge fifth inning with five runs scored, and did even more damage, scoring six runs in the sixth. On the mound, sophomore Caden Mendenhall was locked in, tossing five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts.
